Cookies and local storage
Last updated: October 20, 2026
In short
The site doesn't use cookies, and has no tracking or advertising tools. There are only general, anonymous counts (details in thePrivacy policy). What is saved on your device is saved so the game works.
What's stored in your browser (localStorage)
- The current game, so you can continue from the same point.
- The name you typed and the game settings.
- The board style and settings, like sound.
- That you confirmed you are 18 or over, so we don't ask again before playing for coins.
- Your record against friends and against the computer.
- A summary of all the rolls on this device (how many times each number came up), so you can check that the dice are fair.
- The dates you played on this device, for the streak and the weekly challenges.
- The rooms where you play with friends (the room code and your friend's name), for the "Your games with friends" list on the home page.
- The date of your first visit and which anonymous counts the device has already added today, so nothing is counted twice.
- A random browser ID that identifies your place in an online room.
- If you signed in with Google: the last copy synced with your account, so changes from several devices merge correctly.
- A technical Firebase record that says which database server to connect to.
- Whether you've already seen the tip about rotating your phone.
- Your answers to the daily puzzle, for the streak.
- The positions where you made mistakes, for practice from your mistakes.
- Your progress in the Academy: a rating for each topic, positions worth reviewing, and which kinds of mistakes came up in your games.
- The Open Sage engine files (about 5MB), when you use hints, analysis, practice, or the Strong and Champion levels. They're kept in the browser's regular cache so they don't download again on every visit.
All of this stays on your device. Only when you play online are your name and player ID also stored in the room data on the server.
What's stored in IndexedDB
- The Firebase sign-in record (anonymous, or with Google if you signed in), so you stay the same player even after refreshing the page.
- A Firebase "heartbeat" record, with dates and library versions, and no personal identifier.
Why there's no cookie banner
The site has no cookies, tracking or advertising, and the general counts don't identify anyone. What's stored is necessary for the service you asked for — the game, continuing it, and the preferences you chose — so there's no consent banner, and the full explanation is here.
External services
- Google Fonts: Fonts are loaded from Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address.
- Google Firebase: The library is loaded from www.gstatic.com; online play goes through Firebase's servers.
- WhatsApp or another app: Only if you chose to share a link.
Google's services have their own privacy policy.
How to delete
- In settings, tap "Delete all data from this device".
- Or in your browser: delete the site data (Site data) for gammonroyale.com.
Note: deleting also removes the saved game and your record.
